Grocery Prices Doubled by 2050

Experts say that even if we stopped emitting all global warming gasses today, the world would still see a steady rise in food prices over the years. Grain prices could even double by 2050.

The rise in prices will be caused by a combination of factors: A slowdown in productivity in some places caused by warming and shifting rain patterns, and an increase in demand because of population and income growth.

Many farmers are already seeing the increased temperatures affect their crop yields — each year that passes makes it harder for farmers to keep up the same output.
