The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company, which owns A&P, Pathmark and Super Fresh, has filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy for reorganization on Dec. 12 and by yesterday afternoon had approval from the bankruptcy judge in White Plains, New York, to borrow $550 million from a promised $800 million secured loan to finance the reorganization.Click here to read full article.
